Winnifred Beach has a board of directors made mostly of vendors from the beach, and a few passionate members from outside of Jamaica.  We have a lawyer, a bank account and things are growing in a strategic fashion.

On April 5th we had a committee meeting, where we elected officers.  Our lawyer was present and informed us that the tiral against the UDC (A Government branch which controls public parks and properties) will be on April 20th.

There is a statute that maintains that "If a beach is inhabited or operated for twenty years," it remains public.  Winnifred has been occupied for over thirty years, so the law is on the people's side.
